Who it’s for
You know what to do.
Why do you keep
starting over?
You make a plan, follow it for a while, then drift back to what feels normal. “I’m just not consistent.” “I’m not the sort of person who does that.”
IRP starts with a possibility: some of that friction comes from the picture you hold of yourself. The practice helps you examine that picture and give a more deliberate one a fair trial.
It’s for you if you’re willing to spend time writing, imagining, and testing what changes in daily life.
How the practice works
A clear beginning. A daily practice. A way to assess it.
- 01
The first session · About 90 min
Hear yourself. Then write.
Record yourself speaking, draw out two lists of assumptions and limits, then write 500–750 words describing an ordinary day five years from now.
- 02
Days 1–21 · About 20 min
Rehearse that day.
Read it aloud, picture it from the inside, name a likely obstacle, and finish with a brief physical act. When an old pattern appears during the day, name it and move on.
- 03
Day 22 · About 20 min
Look for what moved.
Return to your lists and make a fresh recording. What did you do that once felt out of character? What still feels difficult? Use that evidence to finish or revise the practice.
What you’ll actually write
An ordinary Tuesday.
Lived differently.
Picture yourself fully developed, then bring it down to an ordinary day: how you work, train, speak, and handle difficulty. Specific enough to imagine. Believable enough to try.
“At nine, I put my phone in the other room and open the work I chose yesterday. The first few minutes are slow. I stay with it.”
The point is to give an ambition a shape you can recognize in your own life.

Before you begin
A few practical questions.
What do I need?
A phone with a voice recorder, pen and paper, and a quiet space. Set aside about 90 minutes to begin and about 20 minutes each morning for three weeks.
Will this change my life in 21 days?
Twenty-one days is the practice schedule, not a guarantee. IRP combines a philosophical model with writing and mental rehearsal. Treat it as an experiment, assess what actually changes, and keep its limits in view. It is an educational practice, not psychological treatment.
Do I need to understand the philosophy first?
No. The practical instructions come first. The explanatory chapters follow, so you can begin and read further as you go.
Do I need Hexis or a membership?
No. IRP is free and complete on its own. Hexis is a separate app for habits and goals; it is not required for this practice.
