The instrument

Hexis

Become what you repeatedly do.

The Greeks called it hexis — from echein, to hold: a settled disposition, a way of being you actively hold yourself in, as an athlete holds form under load. It is not built by intention. It is built by the day, repeated.

Hexis is a habit tracker for body and mind — log one physical act and one intellectual act a day, track your pursuits and their progress, plan your week, and watch the record build. Each act is logged at the level you earned: ergon, done; aretē, done excellently.

Ergon

It is austere on purpose. No badges, no confetti, no feed — a streak that forgives one stumble and never two, and a record that does not flatter. The instrument does not entertain you; it witnesses you. For members who have run the Initiation, it also carries the loop itself — the morning rehearsal, the nightly confirmation, the growing Ledger, the quarterly revision of your reference image — so the rite you began on paper becomes a practice the app carries with you.

Hexis is included with membership in the Academy — it is what joining is. The higher tier adds the Curriculum: the Works that decide what tomorrow's acts are.
